Mary Did You Know?: Part 2 || Day 5

Luke‬ 1‬:26‬-41‬ NKJV‬‬‬‬‬‬

Now in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent by God to a city of Galilee named Nazareth, to a virgin betrothed to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David. The virgin’s name was Mary. And having come in, the angel said to her, “Rejoice, highly favored one, the Lord is with you; blessed are you among women!” But when she saw him, she was troubled at his saying, and considered what manner of greeting this was. Then the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God. And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bring forth a Son, and shall call His name Jesus. He will be great, and will be called the Son of the Highest; and the Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David. And He will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of His kingdom there will be no end.” Then Mary said to the angel, “How can this be, since I do not know a man?” And the angel answered and said to her, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Highest will overshadow you; therefore, also, that Holy One who is to be born will be called the Son of God. Now indeed, Elizabeth your relative has also conceived a son in her old age; and this is now the sixth month for her who was called barren. For with God nothing will be impossible.” Then Mary said, “Behold the maidservant of the Lord! Let it be to me according to your word.” And the angel departed from her. Now Mary arose in those days and went into the hill country with haste, to a city of Judah, and entered the house of Zacharias and greeted Elizabeth. And it happened, when Elizabeth heard the greeting of Mary, that the babe leaped in her womb; and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit.

Mary was someone who allowed the power of God to overshadow her.

Luke 1:35 says, “And the angel answered and said to her, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Highest will overshadow you; therefore, also, that Holy One who is to be born will be called the Son of God.””

I don’t know when that happened, nor do I know how it happened. Did Mary feel the power of God come upon her? Did she sense the anointing of God come in her spirit? Or was it something that she received and didn’t even know anything had happened? I don’t know exactly. However, I do know she had to agree with it and receive it by faith.

What God wants the church to give birth to in 2023 will only be received and released by allowing the power of the Most High to manifest inside you. If Covid didn’t do anything else, it caused the real church to awaken to the power of God. It caused the church to realize that all the other things aren’t going to help you.

It caused the church to see their need for the true power of God. It caused the church to hunger for something that is authentic from Heaven. There are many sitting here today that if we had told them in 2019 they would be in a tongue-talking, Spirit-filled church in 2022, they would have laughed at us. Why? Because the shallow things were all you knew. And for some reason that’s all many wanted.

But when things started shaking, and stuff you thought would never happen started happening, you became more open to God. Then, all of a sudden, you were open to the power of God. When that happened, when your spirit said, “Let it be unto me according to Your word,” God brought you to a place where His power was present.

Now the power isn’t overshadowing you, it is inside of you. And church, what God is birthing through us in 2023 isn’t going to come because of your church title. It will not come because of the denomination you are with. Nor will it come because of your seniority in the kingdom. It will only come because people have allowed the Spirit of God to fill them with His power.

Mary, did you know that 2023 will not be great because of your power, nor by your might, but it will be great because of the Spirit of the living God inside of you?
